Yaşar University

Decision of Establishment Selcuk Yaşar Sports and Education Foundation decided to establish Yaşar University in 1999. Yaşar Group of Companies, known for their contribution and leadership in the Turkish economy, wished to establish a contemporary university. Establishment Law and Campus Turkish National Assembly passed Law number 4633 on March 29, 2001 with which the university was born. İzmir University of Economics

As the domestic policy of the Ottoman Empire, “Chamber of Commerce” was established in 1885 in İzmir, the trade city of the centuries. This establishment was first beneficial for the tradesmen. However, it could not be active in long wars and occupation period. Positive works increased in Republic period. İzmir Chamber of Commerce strengthened its long-standing structure and became the leading non-governmental organization of Turkey. Currently, it has total of 80 thousand members, 61 thousand of which are active, and 19 thousand inactive.

Bilkent University

Bilkent University was founded on October 20, 1984 by İhsan Doğramacı, through the joint resolution of İhsan Doğramacı Education Foundation, İhsan Doğramacı Science and Research Foundation and İhsan Doğramacı Health Foundation. The establishment of this private university was later approved by an act of Parliament. The aim was to create a center of excellence in higher education and research. The name “Bilkent”‘ exemplifies the founder’s aim, since it is an acronym of “bilim kenti” in Turkish for “city of science and knowledge.”

Okan University

1999 Okan University, one of the youngest and the most dynamic universities of Turkey, was founded by Okan Culture, Education, and Sports Foundation in 1999 and began its academic life in 2003-2004. 2006 Since the 2006-2007 academic year, the rapidly growing university has been located in its new and modern Akfırat campus. Now, it reached 63 undergraduate, 41 master and 13 Ph. D. programs under eight faculties, two vocational schools and three graduate schools. 2007

Istanbul Kültür University
